Glenmere Lake

Broad-winged Hawk, from “The hawks and owls of the United States in their relation to agriculture” (1893), Cornell University Library

This reservoir hosts New York State’s largest population of the Northern Cricket Frog, as well as 175 species of birds, including a wide variety of waterfowl (eBird hotspot). In addition to the lake, there is a 3.4 mile out-and-back wooded trail. The park and the northwestern shore of the lake can be accessed via Mayor Harter Lane in Florida, New York.
